Bloggers Against Drunk Driving Campaign

It's unusual for me to post twice in one day, but this post is so important to me that I couldn't wait until next week to share it with you guys. If you haven't yet be sure to check out the break down of how I did my kitchen transformation under $50
After my accident I had so many comments and emails from so many wonderful people sharing their own stories with drunk drivers and offering to help in any way. Well now is when I ask for your help in something really important to me.
Over the last few days I've been re-reading my accident posts and most especially reading the comments and emails from you guys. They've made me cry, laugh, and count my many blessings. They also made me realize how prevalent drunk driving is, and how many people it has effected. It is something 100% preventable and yet it takes the lives of 27 people on a daily basis in America. 27 people! Something that shouldn't be taking lives is, because people aren't thinking.
I'm calling all bloggers, and really anyone who uses any type of social media to take a stand against drunk driving! As bloggers we have a huge influence online, and it's time to use that influence to bring this issue into the homes of people all over the world.

The week of February 4th will be the kick off of our Bloggers Against Drunk Driving Campaign. A week of guest posts highlighting different individuals who have been effected by someone else's decisions. All leading up to Friday February 8th where I invite all Bloggers, Facebookers, Instagramer's, and Tweeters to STAND UP FOR SOBERING UP!
I ask all of my blogging friends to set aside this day, to take time away for your regular posting schedule and let the world know what you think about drunk driving. I encourage you to share the above poster and the button below to help spread the word. Let the world know that this is not okay, that we aren't going to just sit back any longer and let something like this ruin lives
I hope and pray that you'll participate in this, I love my readers and my fellow bloggers and never want any of you to have to experience what I've been through these last few months. I was one of the lucky ones who lived, and it's my responsibility to be a voice for those who didn't. Please help me, change starts with one person.

I'm not a blogger but my brother was very affected by the stupidity of a drug driver, he was walking away from the bar her bounced at when a friend called him back in that second when he turned to go back a truck jumped the curb and missed him by a hair and hit his friend pinning him against the building while running over three other people. His friend was killed on impact and the others all but one passed away within days of the accident. This was a little over a year ago and he still has nightmares and survivors guilt, if his friend had not called his name my brother would have been hit head on. What really sticks in the end the guy got 10 years with 5 suspended and he's not even surviving the time in a prison.

My mom was hit by a drunk driver when I was younger. It was a bad accident but she thankfully had no lasting injuries. Regardless, this is something close to my heart and I will gladly participate in sharing this.

I haven't personally been affected by a drunk driver (thank God), but it is still something that is close to my heart. I'll be adding your button to my new blog posts leading up to Feb 4th. Thanks for raising awareness and for sharing your story.

I will definitely join this campaign with you. I found your blog this morning at Beyond the Picket Fence. I am so touched by your story and I also have a hard time sharing personal stories. Especially the difficult ones.

Driving home from our son's home last night, there were at least three erratic drivers who I believe may have been under the influence. Unfortunately, the fog was too dense to make out their plates. If people reported this kind of behavior. it would definitely help! I plan to join this campaign!
