Eeeee! I'm so excited to be here on Newlyweds on a Budget today! I'm Jenna and I blog over at 2027 about all sorts of things, but mostly crafting and DIY decor. I first met Kari when we were matched up as Package Pals and she sent me the cutest burlap pillow cover. I'm resurrecting one of my very first crafty posts for you guys today, my Pop Art Canvases. All about SNAP Part 2: The classes

Where to even begin. The classes, the people, the atmosphere, all of it was awe-inspiring and amazing. I'm going to be doing a very broad overview of the classes I took but if you can check out The Snap Blog for more details on all of the classes taught at SNAP.

The number one thing I took away from SNAP was the amazing connections with other bloggers just like me. The second thing I took away from SNAP was the classes! Saturday night driving home I was exhausted beyond belief and ready to sleep in my own bed again BUT I was also extremely motivated to become the very best ME I can be! That's what I took away from SNAP this year-that no matter how big or how small you are-YOU ARE IMPORTANT!

Fun Summer Wreath

One of the best parts of SNAP last weekend was finally being able to meet some of the friends I've "met" online in real life! It was so great to be surrounded by such crafty people and to be inspired by them. I just wish I could have met ALL my online friends! Including the girl I do a monthly "craft night" with. Lindsay from Artsy Fartsy Mama, Marilyn from 4 You with Love, Anna from Directions Not Included, and Laura from Smallgood Hearth.

All about SNAP! Part One

So some exciting news around these parts-WE GOT THE HOUSE! That's right. We're doing the inspection sometime this week but other than anything going wrong with that-we got it! I'm SUPER excited and already have big plans for the whole house.

And, I made it through my very first blogging conference. It was fantastic and SO inspiring! I loved finally being able to meet the girls I've gotten to know online so well over the last few months, like Kristyn from Lil' Luna, Camilla from First Lady of the House , and Marissa from Rae Gun Ramblings . Hi!  I'm Marilyn from 4 You With Love and Kari has given me the honor of guest posting for her today.  I'm a mom with three kids (two in college and one in high school).  I blog about ways I show love to those in my life:  care packages, recipes, home improvement, crafts, knitting....you name it! I don't know about you but I like a bargain.  I'm always trying to find those killer deals.  As an example, I always stock up on office supplies in August when all the back to school sales are in full swing.  You know when they have pencils for $0.01 or pens for $0.50. The downside is when I am out and about, I will grab a pen from my purse to write a check.  No problem until I've completed my check and I can't remember whether the pen I just used was mine or the store's.  Not anymore!  I'm going to share with you a quick and easy way you can personalize those "cheap" pens.

I'm always looking for "Non-Traditional" way to do things. And when it comes to storage I'm all about re-using items not only because it saves money but because I get a kick out of making storage look good! Why should it have to be a boring old plastic container from the super store? Re-using and re-pourposing items also helps give a little personal touch and flair all your own!

We're down to counting hours instead of days before the SNAP Conference! After months and months of waiting, a few weeks of stressing, and a couple days of craziness it is finally here!

Tomorrow morning at 11:00 MST I'll be registering and trying not to look awkward or out of place. This is my first conference and I have a million and one emotions going through me right now...

I'm so excited to finally get to meet the girls I've come to know so well-but I have this overwhelming feeling that I'll be the odd man out or that we won't click as well in real life as we do online.

Anywho-it's going to be fantastic no. matter. what. AND even though a lot of you aren't able to come this year there are tons of ways you can participate in the fun!

I want to welcome all the new followers and visitors from the Ultimate Blog Party! I'm so excited to have you be apart of the fun we have around here.

For those of you who are familiar with how things are run around here you'll notice that things haven't been as consistent as usual. First I want to apologize for that, and second I want to let you know why.

I love blogging. I love creating. And I love the friendships I've made with all of you. I never realized when I started this blog last year that it would grow so much and become a very active part of my life. I never ever thought I would have the opportunities I've had or the be able to go to the places I'm going. But I also never realized the time and effort that would be put into staying on top of things.

What I've been crushing on lately

So the last few weeks my crafting has been kind of pathetic. Despite what you see on the blog I have in fact been getting things done-they've just been for guest posts that aren't coming up till later this month. But still-I was doing those to meet a deadline not because I actually wanted to sit down and work on something.

If you follow Newlyweds on a Budget on Facebook or Twitter then you know last week I was working hard on my second skirt-the first one was a total fail. Well I finished the skirt just in time for Easter Sunday. I put it on-everything looked great-until I turned around. Because of the way I placed my pleats in the back it made my butt look HUGE! We're talking 3 times it's usual size. So ya-we're going to chalk that one up to another sewing fail. Thankfully my sweet MIL (who provided my awesome sewing machine) also got me sewing lessons to go with it-I start those tonight and can't wait!

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mojo and I spent time celebrating with friends and family and enjoying the holiday.

I've talked a little bit about the awesomeness that is Breathing Space the wonderful blogging retreat going on here in South Jordan, Utah at Daybreak-May 4-5-but I want to dive into it a little bit more and I've got a fun surprise for you...

First off-Breathing Space is aa wonderful weekend put on and hosted by the beautiful Daybreak community located in South Jordan, UT. Everyone could use a weekend away but bloggers especially understand the importance of breathing space.
