Bookshelf meet Bookpages

In case you haven't realized I'm not that great at coming up with post titles...

So Mojo and I got this bookshelf for $5 back before Thanksgiving from another couple in our apartment complex. And although there wasn't anything specifically wrong with you it wasn't do much for me. I felt like I needed a great pop of color and pizzazz in that corner so here's what I came up with/

Here's what the bookshelf started out to begin with-

Then using half a bottle of gloss Modge Podge I covered the outside, inside, and shelves all with book pages-

I love how the pages on the bookshelf turned out...I was tempted to just cover the whole thing in the pages and call it good. But it didn't have the color I wanted so....

I painted the surfaces facing out red. It's the red I used as part of my Gallery Wall. Doesn't it look amazing?

Mojo's first comment was "It's very...bright." I'm not sure he loves it but I think it'll grow on him. It was a great way to bring a little more red into the room.

P.S. I used my sewing machine for the very first time this weekend and I'm excited to show off what I made with it on Wednesday and don't forget to link up to Tutorial Tuesday tomorrow!

What a cute project, I love it. I leave all the DIY to my husband. I always say I think them up and he makes it happen.

That red looks great. I think it puts the bookshelf over the top (in a nice way, lol). I'm sure Mojo will get used to. Thanks for sharing at our Link It Up Thursday party.
