Knock off Halloween Bats-Guest Post by Anna from Directions Not Included

Hi everyone! I'm Anna from Directions Not Included.  My blog is an attempt to chronicle the adventures of two humans, three dogs and two cats as we take an old Florida home and make it ours. We are full of DIY renovations, crafty projects and all around fun.

I'm excited to be here to show you a simple Halloween craft on a budget. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I'm going a bit overboard with the decorations. I saw these adorable hanging bat decorations from West Elm but $19 for cardboard and glitter was a bit ridiculous.

The solution? Stencil, black cardstock, fishing line, tape and a good pair of scissors. I used Google Images to find some bats I liked and printed out images to use a stencil.

I ended up using two sized bats and traced those on my black cardstock. They have glitter paper at most craft stores but I ended up going with plain since that is what I had on hand. You can even give your paper a light dusting with spray glue and sprinkle on the glitter of your choice if you want a bit of sparkle for your Halloween.

Use a few pieces of clear fishing wire and some translucent tape to create your mobile. 

 And now our bar area is full of bats in anticipation for the holiday.
